Purpose first. Strategy second. Tools third.

Here's the thing. Most organizations don't have a marketing problem. They have a clarity problem. I've spent 30+ years helping leaders say who they are in plain language, and then keep saying it. AI makes that work faster. It doesn't do it for you.

Dawn Jordan Jones, smiling, in a gold blazer and plum blouse

Clear beats loud.

Let's be honest. A new tool won't fix an unclear message. It'll just help you say the wrong thing faster.

So what comes first? Purpose. Then strategy. Then the tools, AI included. And then you keep showing up, because one good week doesn't build a brand. Are you using AI to make your work better, or just faster?

Work that shows the thinking

Results matter. But here's what I really want you to see: the decision behind each one.

ITSMF: from 2,500 to 11,000 on LinkedIn

Brand and Communications Manager / Digital Engagement Manager

2021 to 2025

Dawn speaking on stage at an ITSMF event

The problemITSMF had a strong mission and great-looking graphics. What it didn't have was a presence. A post went up every couple of weeks. No thought leadership. No conversation. And LinkedIn was the weakest channel of all.

The decisionHere's what I changed. The organization stopped talking about itself, and its people started talking. Members and executives became the voices, and we posted on a schedule we actually kept.

The resultLinkedIn followers went from 2,500 to a little over 11,000 in three and a half years. During that same stretch I handled communications and creative for more than 100 events a year.

The lessonConsistency earns trust. And your own people are the best content you have.

New Beginnings Fellowship Church: when the doors closed

Digital Marketing Coordinator

2012 to 2022

Dawn at New Beginnings Fellowship Church

The problemIn 2020, COVID-19 closed the building. How do you keep a church together when it can't gather?

The decisionYou stay in touch, and you don't let up. I built the plan and did the work: more newsletters, a website updated constantly, and a faster rhythm on social media. Members always knew how to reach the ministerial staff. We added several ways to give online too.

The resultAttendance rose 75% above our in-person head counts as new people found us online, and giving rose 40%. Members were sharing services with friends in other cities.

The lessonSteady communication holds a community together. It also reaches people you never planned to reach.

Radio One Raleigh: selling what happens next

Non-Traditional Revenue Sales Manager

2006 to 2009

The problemAdvertisers didn't want more airtime. They wanted to stand in front of their customers, and our annual expo put them in a room with thousands of women who make the buying decisions.

The decisionI led new revenue across the station group: sponsorships, events and digital programs, each one built around what the client needed to happen. Hardee's was my account for nearly a decade. State Farm, AARP, Pepsi, Sam's Club and Procter & Gamble were clients too.

The resultOur annual expo drew more than 20,000 people and earned $1M in sponsorship and ticket sales. I ran sponsorship sales for 30 events a year on a $4.5M budget, and revenue grew 40% in 2007 and 15% in 2008.

The lessonAdvertisers don't buy airtime. They buy what happens next, and they come back for results.

Connecting The Dots: a new company and a first book

Delivered through 29Eleven Media

2018 to present

The workI built the company's website and a daily social media presence for the company and its founder's first book. In 2026 I rebuilt the site from the ground up.

The resultShowing up every day paid off: book sales, speaking engagements for the author, and coverage in area newspapers.

"My company, Connecting The Dots, LLC has been doing business with 29Eleven Media principal Dawn Jones for five years. In that time, she has built our website, and established a daily social media presence for our company and my publication, Stop Falling for the Okeydoke: How The Lie of "Race" Continues to Undermine Our Country. Dawn is accessible, creative, and dependable and has been an invaluable asset to CTD. I cannot imagine how we could have accomplished as much as we have, with this new company and first-time publication, without 29Eleven Media."

Aimwell Baptist Church: 135 years old, and ready for what is next

Marketing Manager, on contract · Mobile, Alabama

2020 to present

The problemThe pastor was retiring after 40 years, and his successor was in his thirties. The church was 135 years old, and online it looked every year of it.

The decisionI started with the website, because it was telling the wrong story. Then I added what keeps a church visible all week: consistent social media, a YouTube channel for the weekly sermons, and sermon graphics that reflected both the day's message and the congregation itself.

The resultFollowers grew on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and so did the congregation. Eighteen new members joined in 2021, 40 in 2022, 52 in 2023, 90 in 2024 and 92 in 2025.

The lessonIf a church wants to keep growing, it has to grow with the times. Staying relevant is how it keeps doing the work of the Great Commission.

"29Eleven Media has been an answered prayer for our ministry. Dawn's creativity, attention to detail, & commitment to excellence is unparalleled. She not only can help with forming ideas into reality, but she knows how to add the right amount of innovation to your idea. I would recommend 29Eleven Media for any organization looking to establish, elevate, & expand their brand!"

On stage and on air

I speak, teach and guest on podcasts about three things: getting your brand clear, building marketing a small team can actually sustain, and putting AI where it belongs. Teaching isn't new for me. I've been training people since 1999: radio sales teams, church media volunteers, business owners, and the founders I tutor one to one today. I also presented at the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Show in 2003, 2004 and 2006.

The story so far

I started in radio in 1989, part time, and went full time in 1990 at a brand-new station in Peoria, Illinois. I sold the ads, wrote the copy and helped run the place. Nothing was somebody else's job, and that turned out to be the best training I could've had.

For the next two decades I sold, managed and trained in North Carolina and Indianapolis. I built training programs for sales teams. I built events and campaigns around what clients needed to happen. Here's what those years taught me: the work is only as good as its results.

In 2015 I founded 29Eleven Media, a full-service agency for mission-driven organizations. From 2021 to 2025 I also led brand and communications at ITSMF, a national nonprofit for technology executives. In 2025 I became a Certified AI Consultant. Now I teach leaders how to use AI without losing the human voice that builds trust.

My faith shapes how I work. Serve people before you sell to them. In ministry circles I'm known as the Kingdom Brand Architect, and that work lives at Branding The Gospel Well.

I live in the Atlanta metro area, and I'm the proud mom of my son, DJ. I read, I bake, and every vacation I take is near a beach.
